Supporting tamariki, whānau and hāpori to thrive

Kia ora! At Relate Services, we work to support the oranga (wellbeing) of tamariki (children) and whānau (families)

Who We Are

At Relate Services, we walk alongside people to strengthen connection, healing, and belonging.

We provide services directly to tamariki and whānau to support their oranga (wellbeing). Our therapeutic assessments and services are designed to help children and families thrive — not just survive. Our approach is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and integrates a relational, rights-based lens that upholds dignity, agency, and connection. We know that true wellbeing is nurtured through both relational and cultural belonging.

Our practice is strengths-based, solutions-focused, and informed by a neurodevelopmental lens — helping us understand and respond to adversity in ways that build resilience, healing, and hope. Whether we’re working with an individual child, a whānau, or the professionals who support them, our focus remains on transformative and culturally responsive practice.

Relate Services was founded by Dr Braden Clark following years of frontline experience and doctoral research into childhood adversity. As a social work educator, practitioner, and innovator, Braden developed a Neurodevelopmental Lens Model tailored for Aotearoa New Zealand which is now embedded in all of our work.

We also offer professional development, reflective supervision, and consultancy to organisations and practitioners across the motu.
